After Juilliard, Corenswet appeared in the film Affairs of State (2018) and took guest roles on shows including House of Cards, Elementary, and Instinct while building his résumé. His breakthrough came through a pair of collaborations with producer Ryan Murphy: playing River Barkley in Netflix’s The Politician (2019–2020) and Jack Castello in Hollywood (2020), both of which raised his profile considerably.
He continued building momentum with roles in HBO’s We Own This City (2022), the horror film Pearl (2022), and Look Both Ways (2022), establishing himself as a versatile young leading man across film and television.

In June 2023, Corenswet was cast as the title character in James Gunn’s Superman, relaunching the DC film universe. He also appeared in supporting roles in Twisters and Lady in the Lake, both released in 2024.
Corenswet is set to reprise the role of Superman in Supergirl (2026) and Man of Tomorrow (2027), cementing his position as the new face of the character for a new generation of moviegoers. He has also been cast in Mr. Irrelevant: The John Tuggle Story, currently in post-production.

Net Worth & Legacy
David Corenswet’s net worth is estimated in the low millions of dollars, a figure expected to grow substantially as his Superman franchise commitments continue through the remainder of the decade.
From a Philadelphia stage kid trained at Juilliard to Ryan Murphy’s go-to leading man and, ultimately, the actor tasked with reintroducing Superman to audiences worldwide, Corenswet’s rapid rise represents one of the more closely watched career trajectories in contemporary Hollywood — a classically trained performer now carrying one of cinema’s most scrutinized roles.
