Billy Crystal is heading back to Broadway this fall with a new one-man play he wrote himself. The show, called 860, begins previews October 1 at the Imperial Theatre and opens October 21, with a run scheduled to end January 3, 2027, according to the Broadway League’s opening-night calendar and Playbill. Scott Ellis directs.
The title is the street address of the house his family lost in the Palisades fires, where they lived for 46 years, as Crystal explained when the production was announced. Broadway Direct describes the play as a funny and intimate look at family, friendship, love, luck, and loss, with Crystal revisiting the memories and moments that mattered most and the way laughter can help people through hard times.
Crystal’s Broadway history
This is not his first solo turn on a Broadway stage. Crystal made his Broadway debut in 2004 with the one-man show 700 Sundays, which won him a Tony Award. He came back in 2022 with Mr. Saturday Night, a musical adaptation of his 1992 film, which opened in April of that year and closed in September after 116 performances.
860 is one of several star-driven productions arriving on Broadway this fall. For the wider lineup, see our fall Broadway roundup.
