It has been a busy stretch for TV decisions. Netflix has ended Sweet Magnolias after five seasons, while Peacock, Apple TV, and Paramount+ have all locked in more episodes of their hits. Here is where things stand as of September 18, based on reporting compiled by TV Guide.
Canceled or ending
- Sweet Magnolias (Netflix): The South Carolina drama about three friends was canceled after five seasons, reportedly because of low ratings. There is a consolation prize for fans: showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson and star JoAnna Garcia Swisher will reunite on Ladies of the House, an upcoming Netflix drama about a mother and two daughters who take over a winery.
- Ransom Canyon (Netflix): The Texas romance starring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly will not get a third season. Deadline reported that lower viewership for season two likely drove the decision.
- Spider-Noir (Prime Video): The Nicolas Cage series was canceled after one season, likely because viewership did not justify its production costs. Two days after the cancellation was announced, it won five technical Emmys at the Creative Arts Emmys.
- House of David (Prime Video): The biblical drama will end after its third season, which recently began production in Greece.
- P-Valley (Starz): The drama will wrap with its third season, premiering December 4. Creator Katori Hall said the show is ending on its own terms.
- M.I.A. (Peacock): The Miami crime drama was canceled after one season.
Renewed
- The Traitors (Peacock): Renewed for three more seasons, running through season eight, with Alan Cumming returning as host. Season five is set for 2027, and a civilian-cast spin-off, The Traitors: New Blood, premiered September 17 on NBC.
- Slow Horses (Apple TV): The spy drama returns for a six-episode eighth season, based on Mick Herron’s novel Clown Town.
- MobLand (Paramount+): Renewed for a third season, with Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren all set to return. The renewal came ahead of the September 18 premiere of season two.
- Ms. Pat Settles It (BET): Renewed for a fourth season.
Renewal and cancellation news moves quickly, and this list reflects reporting as of September 18, 2026.
